We are a fast growing startup within the IoT and fintech space empowering children with essential lifelong skills. We do this by combining an IoT piggy bank with an app with a real-time bank account. As CTO you’ll lead our team in developing and scaling our product even further while always having the end-users in mind.

Your role

We are looking for a talented colleague to lead our development efforts and shape our company’s future. We are looking for a person with years of experience within both frontend- and backend development. Besides knowledge about how to build apps you also have a deep understanding of how a backend works as we are working with both high-security integrations into banking systems and have our own cloud-based API setup. Your knowledge – or at least interest – does not end here. As we are an IoT product we also need you to understand the basics within firmware and how we communicate the best between app, server and hardware.

What you’ll be doing:

• Revise code from our development team
• Run weekly- and bi-weekly sprints with the development team and motivate them to meet deadlines
• Take part at meetings around UX and feedback from users
• Be part of the leadership at ERNIT and participate in meetings around strategy
• Always be on the lookout for new technology that can improve the user experience
• Take decisions on future technology implementations
• You don’t just want to lead but are passionate about coding yourself
• Communicate with our customers development teams in regards to integration

Like the rest of the ERNIT team your focus is always on the end-user. We don’t build anything without testing it with the users first, and we never build things only because they are new and technically advanced. Everything needs to point to the user, and you understand this. We are working with languages like Go, Java and Swift, with backend systems like Firebase and Socket.io and other tools like RabbitMQ, Intercom and Segment and many other things – but they always serve a higher purpose.

Besides the base salary, we will provide you with the opportunity to participate in ERNIT’s success via our warranty program.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with building apps – maybe in Ionic or similar
• Experience with working with Go and API’s
• Both frontend and backend experience
• A thirst for learning new things
• A holistic view on development where fronted is just as important as backend
• A want to work in a fast paced and ever changing setting

It’s a plus if you have:

• Previously worked with firmware
• Management experience
• Worked in a startup before
• Experience with IoT products
