Hi there! We’re looking for our first in-house designer. If selected, you will set the standard for all other designers joining our company in the future. Great design is one of Airthings’ strongest competitive advantages. We plan to stay well ahead of the global competition when it comes to design, and so the designer’s role will be instrumental in our continued success.

In the beginning, the tasks will focus on designs for web, app, and print. The nature of your tasks will depend on your current skill set, what you can teach yourself on the job, your own ambitions, and the needs of the business.

We’re still a small company with around 25 employees. This is an environment that is fantastic for continued learning and working with smart people! Since you are joining the company at a relatively early stage, you also have the opportunity to make a big impact and will receive considerable decision-making power.

Requirements:

Knowledge & understanding of user interface/user experience concepts and ideas, on mobile and web (UI/UX)
Knowledge or experience in brand management
Creative and takes initiative
Impressive portfolio
Knowledge of the best export formats for print, apps, and web
Humble and inquisitive attitude
Interested in science and technology
Must be intuitive and flexible in a fast growing environment

Nice to have:

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS & Javascript
Product design experience (hardware & apps)
Real-world experience in hardware design
Experience designing marketing emails from scratch
Experience with video animation & editing
