Based in Copenhagen, Empirical Spirits is a platform to investigate flavor, traditions, technologies, and techniques from across the globe. It’s a springboard to re-examine how we build deliciousness, launch dialogues and create a whole bunch of novel libations along the way. As we craft our unique flavour profiles, every parameter of our liquid is considered; from the local heirloom grains and bespoke yeast strains, down to our in-house koji production and proprietary distillation technology.

The Role:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of Empirical’s day-to-day business, have constant oversight of our incoming and outgoing needs, and assist the MD in various ad-hoc tasks. The ideal candidate should be proactive, outgoing, a problem-solver, have an entrepreneurial nature and passion for being part of a rapidly expanding team.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting visitors, receiving and handling emails.
• Preparing tasting sessions for partners.
• Carry out the daily opening and closing duties. 
• Maintaining office tidiness, ensuring it meets health and safety requirements. 
• Keeping up relationships with key contractors and vendors.
• Fixing office problems and technical issues as they arise.
• Liaise suppliers alongside MD as required. 
• Booking of staff travel.
• Manage deliveries both in and outbound.
• Ensuring the distillery is clean at all times.
• Proactively identify ways to improve our structure and work environment.
• Making sure all operational procedure documents are kept up to date i.e. health reports daily checklist/stock checks as well as health and safety.
• Working together to prioritise tasks effectively, to meet all deadlines and support senior management and the overall smooth running of the distillery.
• Assisting with various ad hoc tasks and projects as requested. 
• Filing invoices.

Experience:

• Drivers license.
• Fluent in both English and Danish.
• Previous experience in Food and Beverage a plus but not necessary.
