IKEA Bootcamp is IKEA’s first ever startup program – developed in collaboration with Rainmaking. Ten amazing startups from around the world will be invited to join a 3-month program starting September, to work closely together with IKEA and Rainmaking to accelerate their startup. The opportunity:

You’ll get to meet and learn from amazing people and accelerate yourself alongside super talented teams. The lucky candidate will work simultaneously on up to 10 challenging problems; supporting, advising and working with our startups on a day-to-day basis. You’ll be here to support their acceleration in a tangible, hands-on way. Think of it as an MBA you get paid to do. And you will work with IKEA, one of the most valuable brands in the world!

The role:

You will be working with the 10 startups in IKEA Bootcamp to make their businesses great – this could range from an extra pair of hands within their team during a busy sprint, to a sounding board for strategic direction. Together with the IKEA Bootcamp team, you will work as a hit squad team to track the progress of each of the 10 startups and applying your collective knowledge to each business.

As EIR – Business Developer your role is to support the teams with everything within business development and sales: user research, customer development, market validation, go-to-market and sales. You will work on tasks such as:

  • Researching and mapping of target groups in order to understand who are the users/customers and where to find them
  • Customer development (desktop research and interviews) in order to understand what users/customers want
  • Market validation through research and investigation of product/service usage and adoption
  • Understanding of competitive landscapes and be able to effectively articulate value propositions
  • Map and develop a robust pipeline of qualified prospects (list of potential clients) by actively generating new business leads
  • Engage new business opportunities through written contact and cold calling

 

You will support several teams at the same time, helping them with both larger and smaller tasks to enable them to build fantastic products and services.

What you’re awesome at:

  • You have background knowledge and experience in technology or market research
  • You are passionate about understanding consumers and businesses and have a strong balance between analytical and creative skills
  • You have experience in desktop (online) search and lead generation – preferably from a business development role
  • You’re a strong communicator with a sales attitude and desire to engage in cold calling
  • You are proactive and have a great ability to work individually – but are also a great team player
  • You are responsible and a well-organised person
  • You are ambitious, highly motivated and buzzing with energy
  • You are super keen to learn fast and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed
  • You are fluent in English and have strong written & verbal communication skills – any additional language is a plus
  • You have excellent internet and MS Office (Excel) skills
