Yepstr is an app where teenagers can find simple jobs in their neighborhood (babysitting, dog-minding etc.). Yepstr has over the past year managed to build and iterate until the point where we have released a product users love. Having found product-market fit, we are ready to enter a new phase where we take all our learnings so far and launch a version that enables Yepstr to become a given part of every Swedish household - and beyond. You will be taking on this exciting challenge and are expected to contribute to all aspects of design, including product design, interaction design, and visual design. You will be a part of the entire product design life cycle, from proposing initial concepts to ensuring we ship features at a high quality.

Simply put, it is your responsibility to take the product vision and translate it into reality. This requires:

• A strategic outlook with a relentless everyday focus on delivering hands on improvement for our users
• Researching and running usability tests to understand user pain points and generate hypotheses for resolution 
• Creating rough sketches, mockups, prototypes or whatever you think fits the purpose to communicate your solutions to product, customer support and developers 
• Knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
• Working in collaboration with the rest of the team, in particular POs and frontend developers, to ensure that we keep a smooth workflow where UX and design is concerned at all stages of the product lifecycle
• A good understanding of best practice to continuously improve our teams working knowledge

Running a startup into unexplored territory requires different skills and personalities compared to running a company that “already works”. We are therefore on the lookout for certain leadership qualities:

• To make intelligent decisions you engage people around you - sharing and asking others for opinions. If you get stuck we expect you to ask for help. 
• More than anything you love creating awesome products that people really use. You don’t love to just make things look good - you love how excellent design can change people’s lives.
• You are on the hunt for that one big challenge and you are prepared to put in the miles to succeed. Even if you are super-fast, having a real impact and really changing the world always takes time.
• You are a positive realist. Friends would say that you are the person who can see the obstacles ahead, and then go “Cool! Now let’s figure out how to get around them!” You are not the one who rushes ahead blindly (an optimist) nor are you the person who always finds a reason not to try at all (a pessimist). 

Base qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years as a UX/UI designer in a digital context designing consumer-facing software
• Minimum of 2 years experience from early-stage startup / private projects
• Minimum of 2 years experience in mobile design with good understanding of possibilities and limitations on both iOS and Android
• Experience in using prototyping tools like Invision, Marvel, Framer and similar 
• Experience in designing high quality graphic assets in Sketch, Figma, Illustrator or Photoshop
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team with developers 
• Experience of user-centered design and usability testing
• Experience of holding workshops and inspiration sessions

"Nice-to-have”:

• Leadership experience - you have the ability to mentor others to deliver work
• Experience working in task-tracking / bug-tracking systems 
• Development experience - React and React Native in particular
• Having worked with a data-driven design and development 

What we offer

Joining at this early stage means that you are offered a very attractive options programme – in another dimension compared to other startups. Depending on your experience and the amount of options you choose, we offer a salary of between 30.000 to 35.000 sek. 

You are, and will be treated as, an owner of Yepstr from Day 1. Complete freedom - work whenever and wherever you are the most productive. We honestly don’t care. As long as you take care of our company as well as we do.
