At Donkey Republic we are spreading bike love across the globe through our bike-rental platform. Customers rent and operate the bikes using our apps and our smart lock that fits any bike. We work with partners across the globe to deliver a fully automated bike rental service and our ambition is to become the world's leading platform for mobility on bikes.

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer

As we're taking our automated bike-sharing system to new markets, it's becoming more complex, more challenging, but also really, really exciting. That's why we need you to join forces with our lead backend developer, app developers and product designer in building a leading-edge service. 

What your job will be

To build, expand and maintain APIs, services and new features that help in shaping what we believe is the most agile bike-sharing system in an industry that's really hot at the moment (i.e. there's a lot of, ahem, money coming in).  

You'll also be doing: continuous integration and delivery via CircleCI, code analysis and maintenance via Code Climate, monitoring via New Relic and Scout, tracking and analytics via tools like Segment, Mixpanel or Periscope Data.

Who you are

You have experience working with Ruby on Rails and are fluent with Git. You are motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, where you're given a lot of responsibility to experiment with and shape an innovative service. You're a sucker for well-structured and well-tested code, but you also get a rush from constant iteration and implementation. You're an independent thinker and work autonomously, while also leveraging cross-team collaboration and totally fitting in with our team's vibe. 

Frontend experience is welcomed, but what we really want to see is a lot of potential and motivation to build a service that will disrupt the bike-sharing industry, as well as to grow and develop yourself.
