We’re looking for Software Developers to all of our development teams. As a product company, our success is dependent on having a great product. There are currently four development teams with slightly different focus areas, ranging from reporting infrastructure to customer workflow improvements. While we appreciate full-stack developers, we understand that people often focus in some area.
Your tasks
- Build new features, working closely together with other developers, product management, designers and customers.
- Review other developers’ code right from the start.
- Help our highly technical support team triage bugs.
- Work across our stack, most likely with some of Ruby on Rails, Scala, React+Redux+Flow, PHP, MongoDB, Cassandra or PostgreSQL.
- Push code to production during one of your first days.
- Demo your first feature at your first Friday demos.
- Travel to meet our customers and team members in San Francisco, New York, Singapore or Berlin – if you enjoy travelling.
- Participate in defining our company future at our Futur.io events.
You may be a fit for this role if you
- Have 4+ years of experience as a software developer.
- Have experience working with Ruby, JavaScript, Python, Scala, Java, Elixir, Go, Haskell, Rust or similar languages.
- Write maintainable and testable code, while navigating both functional programming and object-oriented programming patterns.
- Know how the web works. REST API design, HTTP fundamentals and TCP/IP. Also from the security standpoint.
- Care about ways of working, and always want to improve.
- Are pragmatic. We’re working on an existing system, and our customers’ business depends on it.
- Are continuously teaching yourself and the others.
Bonus points, if you have
- Experience in component-based frontend architectures with React+Redux.
- Experience in Ruby on Rails or Scala+Play+Slick.
- An eye for user interfaces and design.
- Solid experience in SQL, building complex queries and procedures.
- Worked with highly scalable distributed systems, consisting of multiple microservices, deployed to hundreds of nodes.
- Experience building large-scale data processing pipelines.
- Experience leading a team, or potential to become an Engineering team lead.
