Community Management internship

Salary Competitive

Trustpilot is an online review-driven community and platform that builds relationships between consumers and businesses. Launched in 2007, it has seen rapid adoption and now provides over 140,000 e-commerce businesses collectively having more than 23 million reviews. Trustpilot enables e-commerce businesses to engage with customers directly, inviting them to provide reviews of their online experience. This enables brands to have a better dialogue with customers and channel feedback.

Today we don’t do much external community management on the social medias, where we talk about the possibilities of reading reviews on Trustpilot. However, as we would like to increase brand awareness and the reach of Trustpilot, we would like to run an experiment with one or several interns based in Copenhagen.

Our goal

The goal of this internship is for us to learn if engaging actively in social media dialogue will increase brand awareness and Trustpilot’s reach. In practice this means that more people recognize Trustpilot as a trustworthy brand / source of information, and more users visit Trustpilot.com for reading or writing reviews.

The internship

The focus of the work for our intern(s) will be to help us run an experiment by doing the actual community management work - mentioning Trustpilot in contexts where Trustpilot is not mentioned today. We expect this will include:

  • Finding conversations on social medias about shopping experiences and include Trustpilot in the conversation
  • Find people asking about companies and suggest Trustpilot as a source of information for getting this information
  • Find commentary fields below articles about shopping and risks in online shopping, and then suggest Trustpilot as a way of avoiding risks.
  • Together we will set up the software to monitor social media channels and other possible channels. You will have great influence how we monitor and find relevant content.

Who will you be working with?

In some internships, you work with experts in a field. As this is an experiment for us, you will be working directly with the Consumer Team, where the focus is on product development. We do not know much about community management. However, you will receive guidance from our Support Team and Communications Team. It is important to understand that there are no experts to guide you in this field, so you should be able to work independently at times.

Who do we hope you are?

We are very open to your educational background, but as there is no expert guidance it would make sense if you know something about communications or marketing. Furthermore, we hope that you:

  • Have some knowledge about community management
  • Are fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Are self-driven and can work on your own
  • Can engage properly and politely in online conversations
  • Can work late afternoons, as we expect most communication will be in the US time zone. Time zone difference between Denmark and the US makes 15 - 18 (and later) much better work hours than for example 12 - 15 (EST).
  • Can handle responsibility

Internship facts

You might not be the only intern working on this, and we hope that you can work together and help each other. You can also apply as a group for this internship. We expect that you work full time while you are here.

The internship is unpaid and we hope that you can spend at least 4 months (but we prefer 6 months or more). There will be free breakfast and lunch every day at the office. Furthermore there is a selection of coffee, snacks, and a disturbing number of cakes - informed about through our cake alert system. You will become part of the everyday life in Trustpilot including events and meetings.

It will be great!

Since this is a new field for us, your will have great influence on how community management is done and how your tasks are formed. Working at Trustpilot, you will be treated as an equal and participate in the daily life of a tech startup. So if you like games, geeks, cake, change, speed and fun, this could be the internship for you.

What now?

Please send your CV to Consumer Product Manager, Jacob de Lichtenberg at jdl+internship@trustpilot.com  by 020/01/17, or reach out to him if you have questions.
