Creating the future of connected cars
We’re a funded team of 5 people tasked with exploring and building the future of transportation. We are ambitious and will launch in April 2017. We’re searching for a full-stack developer that can help us ship to more than a quarter million cars in Denmark. Does that sound like a fun and interesting challenge you want to solve?
Our vision / Our challenge
Today’s cities are congested with too many cars on the roads slowing down productivity and polluting our environment. The transformation of mobility with autonomous cars will no doubt have a substantial, positive impact on congestion and productivity at a societal level. But how do we attack the mobility related problems that we face today instead of waiting for a better future? Could we ease up traffic if we knew more about mobility patterns in Copenhagen? Could we detect potholes based on the suspension data and automatically send requests to get the road fixed? There is so much we can do and figure out! We believe the answer is called Connected Cars.
We are going to help everybody that owns a car first, this means everything from getting your car to the workshop to improve safety by providing proactive care and better information. All that is only the start, we have a lot of ideas we want to make, but we need you to help us!
Who are you?
We’re looking for someone curious and passionate about how technology can change and improve the world we live in. You already have some experience in building things but most of all know how to get stuff done.
We are using Node.js and React to build the application, Github to store the code and Google Cloud with Docker to run it. Our mobile app is going to be written in React Native. Programming is only a means to an end, so it is not required that you know everything about Node.js or that you maybe know a different programming language, the most important is that you can learn and adapt quickly!
The team you are joining
You will be joining a team with a lot of experience and we all have different skills that complement each other. For an example, Mads Gregersen has created the app Mobilepay that you may know. Nobody here on the team is afraid to get their hands dirty!
Is Connected Cars funded?
Connected Cars is funded by Semler Group which is a family owned business who is the danish importer of Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Lotus, Bentley and Lamborghini. You will be part of a strong organization who has the power and willingness to innovate!
